Pearl Street Brewery’s 2020 Community Hop Harvest Ale is Brewed!

For over 10 years, Pearl Street Brewery has collected hops from local, backyard hop-growers for use in their “Community Harvest” Ale. The annual small-batch brew uses hops from everyone to create a single batch brew. While the beer style changes from year to year, it’s always brewed with locally grown hops.

Pearl Street Brewery invited area hop growers to bring in their crop to the brewery to be included in this year’s batch and, for each pound of fresh-picked hop flowers brought in, the grower received 1lb of beer (pint) at the time of donation and 1lb of Harvest Ale beer after it is brewed (available now in the tasting room).

Pearl Street Brewery will donate proceeds from every pint purchased. Area pubs and restaurants will have the opportunity to participate too; by serving the beer throughout the winter. Proceeds from the beer will benefit the La Crosse Warming Center and provide meals for the guests.

This year’s beer is an English Mild Amber Ale (5.1% ABV 11 IBUs) which includes a blend of community-sourced hops. The Pearl Street Brewery Tap Room and area restaurants will have the opportunity to serve the beer throughout the winter.
