La Crescent Applefest is now offering an Applefest in a Box! Though the in-person festival has been modified to accommodate smaller events, the La Crescent Festival is asking for support through purchasing the Applefest Box.

The $50 package includes:    

– 2 commemorative Applefest buttons
– 2 commemorative can koozies
– Bag of candy
– 3 pounds of Van Lin Orchard Apples

Choice of: 

– Hard Fest Cider (Hoch Orchard, 64 oz growler)
– Appleweizen (PSB, 64 oz growler)
– Shitty Lyte Beer (PSB, 12 pk)
– Purple Reign (Hoch Orchard, 8 pk)

Applefest is one of the oldest festivals in the Coulee Region, dating back to 1949. Applefest was created to celebrate the community of La Crescent, and promote the apple industry. The tradition remains strong, even now. Though the festival has been modified to not include the major crowd gathering events, the board of directors has chosen to continue to reach out to the community through smaller events, in safe settings. It was important to the Board of Directors during this time of social distancing, that the community does not isolate itself from families, friends, neighbors, and area communities.

Without the support of the La Crescent area, and the Coulee Region community, Applefest would not be able to provide fun and  friendly entertainment for all ages year after year. In addition, scholarships are awarded through the Royalty program. In an effort to continue this tradition, even through a pandemic, the board asks once again for the community’s support through the purchase of a “Fest in a box”. Goodies for all ages are included. Many of the items in the box are sourced from locally owned businesses.

About Applefest 

Applefest is coordinated by a fully volunteer Board of Directors. Responsible for everything: from making decisions, participating in parades, running (and working) all of the Applefest events, as well as representing the La Crescent area at festivals both far and wide. In the past, members of the Applefest Court and/or members of the Board of Directors have participated in festivals in South Dakota, Canada, Florida, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.
