Release Flagship And New Fan Favorite Tasting Room Beers in 12oz and 16oz Cans

Pearl Street Brewery to Release Flagship And New Fan Favorite Tasting Room Beers in 12oz and 16oz Cans

Pearl Street Brewery is now distributing more of its flagship beers in cans, including the infamous DTB Brown Ale, Shitty Lyte (now available in stores) as well as a few tasting room favorites including V|O Haze which will be released in 16oz 4packs by June 15th, with Supreme Fatty to follow in 4 packs later in June.

DTB Brown Ale, one of Wisconsin’s favorite craft beers, has been available in the Midwest in bottles for over a decade. The new canned format adds versatility and convenience to this already popular beer.

Shitty Lyte is a hand-made version of the traditional American Light Mega-Lager but uses fresh local ingredients and is unpasteurized to protect the fresh and delicate flavors (4.2% ABV – 5 IBUs).

V|O Haze is a de-bittered IPA brewed with raw vanilla and orange zest and double dry hopped with VGXP01 and Mosaic hops (7% ABV – 25 IBUs).

Supreme Fatty has a big malt flavor with oats, honey, malt, and milk sugar, utilizing Amarillo/Mosaic hops combination for a juicy flavor.   (7% ABV – 25 IBUs).

The new beers will be available in La Crosse County stores and in the PSB Tasting Room which is now open and is, of course, taking the necessary COVID-19 precautions as it states on their website:

So we can all be safe, we have social distancing placeholders at our bar, we have hand sanitizer and masks available, and we’ve gone hog-wild on the cleaning and sanitizing of our Tasting Room.

Carryout and curbside options are still available and encouraged.

Award Winning Brewery Makes a Mediocre Beer, or did it….?

“I could have a few of these”

– Michelle from Holmen, WI

La Crosse WI:  Pearl Street Brewery, known for brewing a wide variety of award winning beers has released what seems at first blush, to be a lackluster addition to their line-up.  The initial release of the beer in 2018 was at that time embraced with casual shrug and general groan of indifference.

The Award Winning Pearl Street Brewery stated that “Shitty Lyte” Beer was our answer to “Got anything light?” For 18 years Joe Katchever Owner, Founder, Brewmaster, Production Manager, Beer Aficionado  has always answered this question with, “We don’t make shitty light beer”. And they never did. “Then someone said that we couldn’t do it. Well that was a challenge, and when it comes to beer, we love challenges.”

Shitty Lyte Beer was initially met with minor enthusiasm but now positive testimonials are trickling in from some parts of Wisconsin:

“This ain’t too bad”

– Wayne from Minocqua, WI

“Hey! This isn’t really that shitty at all”

– Verne from Milwaukee, WI

“It’s pretty good shit, actually”

– Bill from Spooner, WI

“It’s kinda like they finally figured out how to make beer”

– Matt from Cedar Grove, WI

So how did Pearl Street Brewery take the traditional American Light Mega-Lager and make it better?  Pearl Street Brewery reported that they made it fresher, using local ingredients with an unpasteurized finish and cold fermented it with a single strain of clean lager yeast With inclusion of the quality aquifers of La Crosse County and the Mississippi River Valley, the beer is now available and can be utilized to boil brats, give to in-laws and perhaps drink yourself.
