Things to Know about Dakenstein IIPA

Things to Know about Dakenstein IIPA

Monster Beer

This freak of a beer is released every year at Pearl Street Brewery’s Halloween bash. Brewed with a monster mix of pure barley malts and stitched together with a melange of the stinkiest hops we could find. We use all barley malt for a full, malty body.

Dankness

This beer is determined to be quite dank with a starting gravity of 19.2 and colossal quadruple-hoppings in the brewkettle. Unlike the modish IPA’s of today, this beer has a solid hoppy bitterness to match and balance its malty backbone.

Unfiltered

Dankenstein is a tribute to ancient brewing methods. We bottle and keg Dank with live yeast and the beer is naturally conditioned in the bottle. This leads to a fresher, brighted flavor and a more refined carbonation. Like all naturally carbonated beers, you’ll find it a bit hazy and with sediment in the bottle.

Pearl Street Brewery hosting local rock music including the debut of the The Singularity Warning

Pearl Street Brewery hosting the debut of the The Singularity Warning

La Crosse WI: Pearl Street Brewery is welcoming The Singularity Warning, Floyd Turbo and Midwest Voltage to the Tasting Room Saturday, August 3, 2019.

Midwest Voltage was formed in early 2013, Matt Smith and twin brothers Hugh Rose and Andrew Rose make up the Indie-Rock trio. Centered in La Crosse, WI, their fresh new sound of explosive progressive rock mixed with spacey riffs, sets them aside from the local music scene.

Smith and the Rose brothers have been playing in local bands in the La Crosse area for over 2 decades, and have crafted their original sound out of the love of simple, catchy, and tight riffs. Now all in their mid 30’s, the band draws inspiration from early 1990’s rock and post punk and are a well-oiled, ass-kicking machine. They have played many clubs and bars in the Wisconsin/Minnesota areas as well as festivals in Western Wisconsin.

The Singularity Warning hails from the former Earth colony of La Crosse, Wisconsin. They are Travis Tippery, Jeff Brennan, Kean Fallon, and Schuyler Leehey. You may know them from such acts as Lava, Rhinestone Convoy, Sowbelly Bitchhog, Droids Attack, and Of Conscience. They are the heralds of warning for what remains of the human race, and their message is conveyed through sonic guitars, booming bass, and ground-pounding drums. The elements of technology leak into their organic roots; screeching robot speak and the sounds of hydraulic systems intertwine with a heavy blues groove in a marriage made in space and technological mayhem.

What: The Singularity Warning, Floyd Turbo and Midwest Voltage

When: Saturday, August 3 2019

Where: Pearl Street Brewery  – 1401 St Andrew St La Crosse, WI 54603

About Joe Katchever

After beginning his career in beer, working at various breweries in Colorado, Joe Katchever moved back to his home state of Wisconsin in 1999 and founded Pearl Street Brewery in La Crosse. Over the years, Joe took the brewery from Pearl Street in the heart of La Crosse’s downtown, to a new location and he grew the brewery’s influence from just local, to a footprint that covers Wisconsin, and parts of Minnesota and Iowa. Being a hands-on brewer, Joe has done just about everything in the small brewer’s world and the small business world. Joe began barrel aging beer in 2004 but couldn’t find a market for these eclectic beer styles in the early years of craft. Many years later, he started brewing and ageing mixed-ferment beers again and found a small, but enthusiastic crowd that sought after these styles and Pearl Street Brewery’s new sour beer program was born!

Things to Know about Lederhosen Lager Fest Bier

Come late September each year, we start feeling the Gemütlichkeit.

Season

It’s time to dust off our lederhosen and drink beer. Brewmaster Joe first brewed the Lederhosen Lager for Oktoberfest in 2001 and has brewed it each year to celebrate the season since. It’s our salute to La Crosse’s great German heritage and over 150 years of brewing tradition.

Process

Brewed with Pilsen and Vienna malts, true German lager yeast, and spiced with hops grown in the Hallertau region of Germany.

Hallertau Hop Region

Hallertau Hop Region is a small triangle of land in Germany, but it is the largest and perhaps most famous hop-growing district in the world.  Hops have been grown there since 768 AD.

Beer Steins

Not required for drinking Lederhosen Lager.  But man, you’ll look so cool.

You’ll find this amber beer to be smooth, malty, and easy drinking. Ein Prosit!
